053A – 351 – SPG

Today was an interesting, and unprecedented day.

  1. Squat (L): 235×10, 150×8, 185×5, 225×12.
  2. Bench Press (H): 115×7, 135×5, 165×3, 205×5, 235×3, 260×7 (rep goal +1).
  3. Bench Press – Moose’s Challenge: 185×10,10,10,8,7,9,8,6,6,6,5,4,4,3,3,3,2,1. (105 reps, 18 sets =3,350 lbs.)
  4. Bent-over Rear DB Flyes: 30x5x10. (Superset last 5 sets.)

TOTALS: 34 sets, 225 reps, 33,550 lbs. Total Moose: 120 reps, Total Moose: 120 reps, 6,990 lbs. 

Usually these challenges do not work into my regularly schedule training, but this rare time it did. Since I need as much work as I can to familiarize myself again with my bench groove, this was a perfect opportunity. And boy howdy did I  have one helluva pump after this. Bench work alone accounted for over an hour of my time in the gym this morning.
