Busy week so I’m just going to do a quick recap in digest form.
095B – Squats
- Squats: 132×6, 175×5, 210×3, 245×3, 285×3, 308(140kg)x12 rep goal +2, 345×3, 365×3, 385×3.
Big thanks to my friend Brian for inviting me down to train at Pure Fitness. I can’t tell you how awesome it is to train with IPF legal equipment. Also great to see a host of other friendly faces from meets past. Had a good session practicing low bar and managed to complete all my programmed work.
059A – Bench Press
- Bench press: 120×5, 150×5, 180×3, 210×3, 240×3, 270×8 rep goal ✅, 300×3, 315×2, 330×1, 210×13 FSLS.
Lack of sleep last night and food yesterday definitely affected me today. Still, 300+ pounds is moving well even though I came up short the last two sets. On the second joker set of 315 I used my competition grip and felt less stronger and crisper for reps, I switched back to my closer grip for the last joker set.
059D – Deadlift
- Deadlift: 135x2x5, 190×5, 235×5, 285×3, 330×3, 380×3, 425/193×9 rep goal +1, 470/213×3, 495/224.5×2, 515/233 single, 330×6 FSLS… so fried after that!
With a pinch nerve in the neck and a lack of pizza and sleep, I did quite well even in this depleted state, but they were a grind. For the last pull 515, I should’ve had it on the first pull, and I knew it, so I redoubled my resolve and made it so ugly that a mother wouldn’t even love it’s ugly face. No way a USAPL legal lift, but I’m just happy to get it above my knees.
Last weeks training and this weeks training had to be minimized for attending the USAPL Coaching Seminar I signed up for. I can’t wait to be back on schedule and finish the next week up wrapping up this six weeks training block.
